About Carbon Fiber

Carbon fibre reinforced polymer has several times the tensile strength of steel at a fraction of the weight, and it does not corrode. Pultruded plates are bonded into the tension face of a beam or slab; unidirectional fabrics wrap around a member where the geometry rules a plate out.

Because the material is so stiff, the design work matters as much as the installation: anchorage length, substrate strength and the load already standing in the member all govern how much of the plate’s capacity can be used. We supply the system and the specialist application together.
