About Single Skin
A single-skin building is exactly that: one layer of profiled sheet on purlins and side rails, with no insulation between. Where the contents do not need conditioning — covered storage, a workshop, a car park, a plant enclosure — every dirham spent on insulation is wasted, and single skin puts the budget into span and durability instead.
The sheet is specified for the exposure: profile depth for the span and wind load, and a coating system chosen for a coastal, high-UV environment rather than a temperate one. Translucent sheets can be worked into the roof for daylight, and the same building can be upgraded later by lining it out, because the frame and the purlins are already sized for it.
